2019 Jeep Cherokee Earns Top Spot on American-Made Index

Every year, Cars.com releases a list of the top vehicles on its American-Made Index. This list names vehicles that are the most American with regards to where they're assembled, how many of their parts are made in the U.S., and more. So, with the Fourth of July fast approaching, we're proud to say that the 2019 Jeep Cherokee made the top of the list according to the American-Made Index for the second year in a row. So, if you're looking to dive into summer with a vehicle that has uniquely American flair, stop by our dealership to try out the new Cherokee!

What is the American-Made Index?

The American-Made Index takes a variety of factors into account to determine how American a vehicle is. To figure this out, Cars.com looks at everything from the origin of a car's parts to its impact on the economy.

Here's an overview of what the American-Made Index measures:

  1. Where a car is assembled
  2. How many of a car's parts are made domestically
  3. Where a car's transmissions come from
  4. Where a car's engines come from
  5. How many U.S. factory workers are directly employed by the parent automaker relative to a vehicle's sales

The 2019 Jeep Cherokee, assembled in Belvidere, IL, scored highly across all five of these categories and nabbed the top spot on the list for the second year running. We're thrilled about this news, and we're excited to share this exceptional new Jeep crossover with you.
